Going Broke May 20, 2010
Every serious poker online player at some point has gone broke. Some may have expended just the bank roll they allotted for poker, leaving life money on the side (that they might then begin to dip into). Others might have been truly flat penniless, having invested every cent they have access to into the kitty. Either way, there’s no worse feeling than having lost all the money you had ready to put into the game, and it can be difficult to spring back from. Some never come back at all. The truth about going broke and it’s universality is that the nature of the game comes with swings. Particularly if you are playing deep poker games, no limit, where so much can change hands in a single spot or sessions, some of these swings can be hard to stand up from. Some swings leads to deeper swings, as tilt and bad luck run together and build to knock you down. The true test of the serious player is he would can stand up from those holes and continue on. Players like Chris “Jesus” Ferguson have shown that coming up from zero is not only possible, it’s part of the ride, and with the right attitude and aim, anything can be fought back from.
