Hayling Island
Hayling Island is a fine island thats coupled with the Mainland by a bridge on the Southern tip of Hampshire.
This exquisite Island is home to only 16,900 individuals who savour the miles of coastline lining against the Solent. The traditional Seaside spirit is a consummate backdrop for sailing, swimming, Kite Surfing and wind surfing.
Boasting two churches St Peters built in 1140 and St Marys which dates back to the 13th Century. A visit to the Life Boat Station and Museum situated just by Sandy Point explains the bravery and story, whilst the sights across to the entrance of Chichester harbour can be enjoyed and perhaps captured..
Or if you fancy a round or two why not tee up at the Haying Island Golf Club, founded in 1865, the 18 holes will examine any golfer, set in a lovely location looking out across the Solent towards the Isle Of Wight, complete with Club House and naturally the 19th Hole.
Or possibly the intriguing treasures on display at the Royal Marines Museum won’t fail to impress, with their displays of Landing Craft, Uniforms, Silver and Manuscripts dating back centuries. Or be transported back in time with a call in to Southsea Castle built on the orders of Henry VIII, now home to a fascinating Museum and to the fabulous Over Lord Tapestry which commemorates D Day
